Today's fitness was hill runs by Cambridge, including a jog to get there and back. Also, we had step counters on us and were given the challenge to get to 5000 steps. Today I was also faced with the challenge of a minor knee injury from dance. Though this was a difficulty, I made it work. First of all, I ran all the way to the location of our hill run. I ran the whole way without stopping, and was in the first group to arrive. Running up and down the actual hill itself proved to be a challenge for me, as it hurt my knee a little. In order to modify this for myself, instead of sprinting up the hill and walking down, I slowly jogged the whole thing. Slowing down put less pressure on my knee, and still benefited me in terms of working out. On the way back to the school, I ran all the way back. I wanted to make sure that I got my 5000 steps, and got a good workout in, as after the hill I felt I still had some more energy left in me. After being the first to arrive back, I looked at my counter and had completed the challenge of 5000 steps. I felt very accomplished and today's workout was a lot of fun and hard work.
Here is a picture of my counter.
