Pond Relays, May.17th 2013

Today's Fitness was Pond Relays. I have never done this kind of fitness in pe, or outside of class before other than track meets in elementary. The distance around the pond doesn't look all that long, until you're actually sprinting the whole thing. This was the hardest fitness activity I have done all year by a long shot. Originally, I thought that I wouldn't have much trouble with it, because I love to run, but I had forgotten how far I needed to sprint. After the first few laps I realized I was running off pure adrenaline. After each time I ran I was out of breath almost to the point of nausea. I didn't stop sprinting though, and I had a goal of getting our team of 4 to 20 laps. Unfortunately, we only got to 19, but I'm still proud of how hard me, and my teammates worked. I ran 5 laps and even got to run the very last one and pushed myself extremely hard to not disappoint my team. My team was Kyle, Kate, Neelam and myself. We worked so well together and were constantly encouraging, every one of us. Neelam even sprinted too! At the end of the block, I was exhausted but felt proud of my efforts. I know now I definitely am not much a sprinter, and that's something I do want to improve upon. That said I tried my best, enjoyed myself, and I hope to work on my sprints now more often!
