Maple Ridge Wild Play April.28th 2013

Today I did one of the best fitness activities I think I've ever experienced. It's called wild play, and it's an extreme outdoor ropes course that at the highest level goes up 60ft in the air. I went with my dads work, and was the youngest who managed to complete the whole course. There was about 40 or so of us. It was a great way to get everyone active. Once your hooked into the ropes, you can't get down until the course if finished or you take an early exit. This resulted in me being right up in the trees for a solid two and half hours without ever coming near the ground. It was challenging as we had to swing, zip line, climb, slide, and pull our way through the course. I found it most challenging when we had to pull ourselves on a steep incline up to e next platform. It required balancing on a rocky wood beam while your hand grabbed onto another rope as you had to pull all your weight up on this incline. Everyone who I was with was encouraging, and we all had a great time and a few laughs along the way. It was definitely exhausting but a great total body workout. I was proud of myself for completing even the hardest level of the course, and I loved every minute of the experience. I'd recommend this fitness activity to anyone.

The pictures below include a group picture as well as a photo of me going through an obstacle on the first level.

  1. Sounds so fun! Great way to include a lifestyle of activity piece of evidence. Does your family do lots of stuff together? why? Whose decision is it? What benefits do you see?
